I am still shocked by your loss, so sudden, so direct, just like you were. You were, and I felt you were, a wonderful colleague who gradually won a place in my heart. Kind, helpful, transparent, passionate, good-humored, collaborative. We will miss you greatly at our meetings, as you were the one who always stepped up when Themis was absent, who made the first joke that made us feel more like friends than colleagues, who organized the progression of an issue accurately, who best summarized where we were and where we were going: You were the driving force and the light. Fritjof, we will be very lost and sad without you.

I send my sincere condolences to your wonderful wife and children. Your wife always treated us with the same affection as you, the same closeness and the same interest in us. I pray that she will be strong in the face of your sudden loss, and I send her a warm hug from Spain.
